Pobuzhsky Ferronickel Plant continues improving its ISO standard integrated management system

PFP continues to improve its integrated management system for ISO standards. At present, the enterprise is in full compliance with three international standards.

PFP’s integrated management system is comprised of: quality management system ISO 9001:2015, ecological management system ISO 14001:2015, and health protection and labor safety management system ISO 45001:2018.

It should be noted that ISO 45001:2018 is a completely new system of certification, aimed at avoiding traumatic injuries and professional diseases, as well as at ensuring workplace safety. PFP is one of the first enterprises in Ukraine to fulfill an audit to these international best practice standards.

“This is an important step towards bringing Ukrainian production management to international standards, accepted by all Solway Group companies, and is a key element of PFP’s sustained development strategy,” PFP’s press service wrote in a statement for the media. “Pobuzhsky Ferronickel Plant, like any other metallurgical enterprise, is a high-risk location. Investors and plant management pay special attention to healthcare matters, labor safety and environmental protection. All processes within the company are organized according to Ukraine’s legislation in the field of labor protection.”

Experts evaluated how the workplaces are organized, how well employees are supplied with professional gear and means of individual protection (PPE), activities within the workplace to prevent traumatic injuries, the quality of document flow, and its correspondence to the requirements of international best practices. The auditors noted the high level of professionalism of the PFP employees responsible for labor protection and production safety.

PFP had been certified before per ecological standards ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015.

The auditors checked correspondence to the standard’s requirements as it related to production technologies, document management, employees’ professionalism, the procedure for setting targets for product quality and their implementation, and how principles of risk-management were implemented.  According to PFP’s press service, a further audit is planned for 2020-2021.
