The company takes an active part in preparation for the new academic year and in support of the educational infrastructure of the Pobuzhskaya territorial community.
Pobuzhsky Ferronickel Plant continues to invest in improving general and specialized education, provided to the residents of the region. It is stated in the published data of the enterprise for the 1st half of 2021.
According to the publication, the cost of training staff of PFP LLC in the first half of 2021 is UAH403 thousand (223.0% compared to the first half of 2020). In total, in the first half of 2021 83 people received new professions in the training course and 67 people improved their qualifications. 13 employees study at universities: 3 people on full-time education, 10 people on part-time.
Together with the investor, the international group Solway, since 2016 the plant has been implementing a scholarship program for talented young people living in the Kirovohrad region. Working in most countries of Solway presence, the program is a part of global partnership between the PFP investor and the Salzburg International Festival. In 2021 the updated and expanded @creative.fellowship program through intercultural exchange aims to help young men and girls to master their skills, which will further give them an advantage when looking for a job or developing their own business.
In 2020 PFP launched an interactive project “PICH”. This popular science project in clear and exciting form introduces teenagers to the opportunities that the mining industry can discover for young professionals. The goal of the “PICH” project is to help high school students and graduates of Ukraine to make choice of the profession. Ideally, the program is aimed at increasing the number of young people who may choose technical or specialized disciplines in the future.
“The purpose of our programs in the field of education is to improve the quality and diversity of knowledge of the residents of our community. This is the strategy of the plant and of our investors – Solway group”, – comments PFP CEO Denys Shevchenko. “The implementation of this strategy should allow us to increase the number of our countrymen with the necessary professional, technical and social skills by 2030, having which, they will find it easier to find a decent job or realize themselves in entrepreneurial activity.”
Denys Shevchenko also reminded that since 2013 the PFP has been operating the “Development of Pobuzhye” Charity Foundation, which in the first half of 2021 financed projects for the improvement of the Pobuzhskaya territorial community, including the assistance to schools, kindergartens and cultural institutions. In particular, repairs were made in the premises and landscaping. The Foundation funded the purchase of technical devices, as well as purchased consumables for creativity, stationery, gifts for holidays and competitions.
